9/10/06 - The World Series 2006 - Heat 3
|
That, was vintage Beat the Frog. Possibly one of
the best Beat the Frog's ever with some truly random and brilliant
moments.
And last night saw the launch of our all new Automatic! indie night. With DJ Col on the 1s and 2s 'til 2am with rock, indie and Madchester classics. |

| Dan Nightingale in a very playful mood indeed. | First up was Chris Martin (not the one from Coldplay). A cracking warm up set from a very promising newcomer. |

|
| Dan was on such good form last night. He never fails to tear the place to pieces. | |

| John Cooper tries his latest comedy creation "Danny Pensive". | Then Heat 3 of the Beat the Frog World Series began with Leigh Jones first up. Leigh unfortunately fumbled one of his first lines but soon got them back onside. He was doing well but two cards were up. The third card went up at the mention of The World Cup. Come on lads! Get over it. - 3:10 |

| Next up was Yasar Saleem who never quite grabbed them. - 2:30 | After Yasar we had Jimmy O'Neill who was Pearl and Deaned by our soundtech Colin for offensive material. - Did not set a time. |

| Chaos ensued as the crowd started to chant Colin's name! Gonzo had to follow that, and follow it he did! Tore the place to shreds and Beat the Frog. | The crowd, loved it. |

| John Joss is next up and it never really happens for him. - 1:50 | Stephen Porter opens the second section with a respectable performance, but the crowd knew what they wanted, and it wasn't Stephen I'm afraid. - 2:40 |

| Susan Hanks is next up and although she seemed nervous initially, once she settled, she had an absolute stormer of a gig and from that point on, there was no doubt as to who one of the finalists would be. - Beat the Frog with ease | The Texan superman there. |

| Carl Donnelly travelled all the way from London and did not disappoint. Beat the Frog. | Eddie makes it a hat trick with a near the knuckle set. - Beat the Frog. |

| Hannah and Peter UK try something a bit different which wasn't particularly suited to Beat the Frog but did have merit. - 3:00 | Closing the show we had one of Chris Lumb's creations - "Johnny Magnifico-co-co". |

| The legend that is Steve got in on the act. Johnny actually Beat the Frog, but three cards were up before the five but I'm not sure Dan noticed. Either that, or we wanted to see what was going to happen. | Suitably bemused! |

| The line up... | And through to the final go Susan Hanks and Gonzo Kane. |
