The Frog's annual stand up competition kicked off last night with Heat 1 of the Beat the Frog World Series.

The simply gorgeous Jonathan Mayor	Vince Atta helps warm up the show


Followed by John Cooper.	Paul Betney is the first combatant to step up and the crowd were taking no prisoners. - 2:25


Simon Douglass fares even worst with only 1:35 of stage time before he is croaked.	And then to rub salt in the wound, Chris Lumb manages only 37 seconds!


Beat the Frog previous winner Martin Tapley battles on and makes an impressive 4:05.	After half time Jonathan (pictures above with his love puppy for the evening) very wisely swaps the cardholders around for some people that could be a bit fairer!


Beat the Frog regular Tim Craven rips it up and puts the hecklers firmly into their places. - Beat the Frog.	Jim is received at all well by the crowd and lasts only 1:25


Iain Woodrow doesn't fare much better. -1:45	Phil Buckley really rose to the challenge and Beat the Frog.


Which gives us two automatic finalists - Tim Craven and Phil Buckley!
