28-7-03 - Tina the Evil!


Mark Langley. This time, with clothes on. Thankfully.		Jo Dakin gets into character
Another busy night at the Frog and Bucket but again the crowd took a little warming up. And the first section was filled by Mark Langley and Jo Dakin. Mark was struggling at first but once he got into the swing of the set, the crowd were slowly warming to him. No such Joy for Miss Dakin who sailed very close to the wind of silence with some obvious peaks.

After the break, the crowd were much more up for a laugh and got into their role in Beat the Frog. Particular high lights came from Tom Reads new character "Ken Mustard" who had a particularly good reaction, and a much improved Charles Swift doing his second ever gig, which he finished by going off the stage and begging one of the judges to card him off. She made him suffer but eventually gave in to his demands and he was off, he did manage 4:15 though which is a vast improvement from his first 1:50.

Dave Purdy finished off the Beat the Frog section with a storming gig. the crowd loved Dave from the moment he took to the stage until the moment he left, with no cards in the air at 3:45. Very odd indeed, but he'll be back next week to do eight minutes.

One of the things that makes this night is the audience members, especially the odd-balls. And this week was particular blessed in that respect with Moston based oddball, Tina. As soon as Tina got a couple of cans of top deck inside her, she was mouthing off at any opportunity. Which gave Dan just the excuse he was looking for to crucify her.
